Most bathroom infrared heaters are great at one thing: getting you warm instantly. But there’s a catch. That bright, blinding glare from a standard halogen bulb can be a real pain—and if you’ve got a baby in the house, it’s actually a bit too harsh for their developing eyes. We figured out a way to fix that. Instead of just accepting the glare, we tweaked the way the heat is emitted using some clever coatings and a specific filament shape. Taming the glare Here’s the thing: we wanted the heat, but not the “staring into the sun” feeling. By adding a special coating to the quartz glass, we can filter out those intense blue and white lights. You still get all that cozy, deep warmth, but the blinding light is gone. It’s not about dimming a lightbulb; it’s about changing where the energy goes. The trade-offs We use high-purity quartz so the tube doesn’t snap when it heats up and cools down quickly. We also tuned the filament to hit a sweet spot—plenty of heat, but very little visible light. Just a heads-up: because we’re filtering out the light, these aren’t meant to brighten up your room. If you’re looking for a lamp to read by, this isn’t it. This is all about the warmth. Getting it installed These units are pretty straightforward. They usually slide right into standard housings (like R7s connectors) and are small enough to fit into tight ceiling spots without a fight. One quick tip for the install: make sure your driver can handle the initial surge of power when it kicks on. If the driver is a bad match, you’ll burn out the filament way too fast. Also, double-check that your voltage is steady. Nobody wants a flickering light while they’re trying to relax in the bath.
